Digital Signal Labs is a new consulting firm, established June 2005, specializing in the development, optimization, and implementation of signal processing and communication systems on modern digital signal processors. Our specific strength is in the conversion of algorithms to fixed-point arithmetic and the implementation of those fixed-point algorithms in highly optimized, hand-coded assembly on specialized fixed-point digital signal processors such as the Texas Instruments TMS320C5xxx and TMS320/C/DM/62x/64x DSP families. As part of the process, we are accustomed to developing and prototyping the algorithms in Matlab and fixed-point C and C++.
Some examples of past projects include single-bit delta sigma D/A conversion, robust frequency offset estimation for FSK demodulation, and GSM frequency offset estimation.
We also have experience in real-time, embedded processor framework development and maintenance, including host processor interfaces, the TI BIOS operating system, and low-level device driver development (e.g., video port and codec device driver development on the TI TMS320DM642 DSP).
Our current project is the development and support of a multiprocessor system that performs multi-stream MPEG4 video encoding on the TI TMS320DM642 DSP.
